Despite The Weight Issues, Apple Vision Pro may Ship Without the Top Strap
Roughly 3 weeks ago, Apple announced the highly anticipated Apple Vision Pro, and during WWDC, numerous individuals had the opportunity to test the headset’s demo. Despite receiving high praise in various aspects, there was one consistent issue that almost every person mentioned after demoing it—the weight.
Reportedly, some employees have expressed their concerns regarding the weight of the Apple Vision Pro, stating that it felt “too heavy” after a few hours of use. Although the exact weight of the device is yet to be disclosed, testers have mentioned that it felt front-heavy even after just 30 minutes of use.
According to Mark Gurman, a renowned Apple analyst, there are indications that Apple is considering offering the top strap as a separate accessory instead of including it in the box. Although the price for this accessory has not been specified, The headset’s price itself “starts at $3,499”. Therefore, it is likely that additional accessories will be available for purchase alongside the headset.
Gurman’s report also mentioned that Apple is in the process of developing an iPhone app that will enable customers to scan their faces in Apple stores, ensuring they choose the appropriate size of headset’s facial interface for a comfortable fit.
Additionally, Apple plans to make this app available to online customers who wish to purchase the headset. However, this information raises concerns regarding the potential limitation of the headset to be used by only one person, as it may not be suitable or comfortable for other family members to wear, thereby limiting the immersive experience to a single individual.
