The Latest Report Says that Apple’s Headset is in the final sprint to release
The Economic Daily News of Taiwan has reported that Apple’s upcoming headset, which will be unveiled at WWDC on June 5, is in its last phase of procurement and logistics, and GIS, a Chinese manufacturer well-known for technologies like touch and display modules, will be part of the supply chain.
According to the article, GIS has been assigned the task of lens lamination for Apple’s Headset, which has been identified as the most difficult section to manufacture. Profit margins are expected to be high for GIS, based on the difficulty of manufacturing the lenses.
Whereas the first generation of Apple’s Headset has been assembled by Luxshare, the second generation is rumored to feature a dual-option model, with a low-end variant produced by Foxconn and a high-end variant assembled by Luxshare, the same as the first-gen product.
It is noteworthy that the GIS Chengdu factory has created a production line specifically for the production of Apple’s headset. Mass production and shipment of these headsets are anticipated to take place in the second and third quarters.
What is really interesting in the most recent rumors is their quantity. We have never seen that many detailed rumors regarding an upcoming headset from Apple – With its expected debut just a month away at WWDC2023, it seems increasingly likely that the headset will soon be a reality.
