Vertigo Games, the renowned studio behind one of the best-selling VR games of all time, Arizona Sunshine, is returning with a sequel – Arizona Sunshine 2. The unveiling of their upcoming title took place during the PlayStation Showcase event.
Arizona Sunshine was lauded as an impressive VR zombie shooter upon its initial release, but as time passed, the game began to show its age and limitations. Its interactions with objects and linear story were considered less advanced compared to more recent titles in the genre.
However, this time around, Vertigo Games appears to be ready to deliver an impressive game experience. Arizona Sunshine 2 will be once again set in Arizona, as the name suggests. The upcoming title also promises exciting combat scenarios.
According to the PlayStation Blog, players will have the opportunity to “experience the thrill of realistic combat” with a diverse arsenal that includes new and fan-favorite weapons such as shotguns, machetes, and flamethrowers. This indicates a significant variety of weaponry to enhance the gameplay.
Moreover, players will also have a loyal companion by their side throughout their journey. Meet Buddy, your faithful canine companion who will assist you in navigating through this forsaken realm infested by hordes of zombies. Together, you and Buddy will face the challenges and fight for survival in this apocalyptic setting.
The trailer of Arizona Sunshine 2 unfortunately does not provide any gameplay footage, and the screenshots seem to be conceptual artwork rather than actual in-game visuals. Despite this, the sequel holds great promise, and we eagerly anticipate more information and details about the game.
According to the publishers, they plan to unveil additional features in the upcoming months leading to its release “later this year,” although an official release date of the game has yet to be announced.
