Beond Airlines announces plans to “Offer the Apple Vision Pro to Select Passengers”
Apple Vision Pro debuted about two weeks ago, and during this period, it has supposedly reached the hands of hundreds of thousands of users. Over these two weeks, numerous reviews have surfaced, with a common consensus emerging: Vision Pro is an outstanding TV, garnering praise as having one of the best-in-class displays in VR headsets.
Its outstanding resolution makes it an ideal choice for immersive movie experiences, particularly with genuine 3D content. Furthermore, Vision Pro offers a travel-mode feature that allows the device to work during flights or while in motion, allowing users to entertain themselves on long trips and flights. Interestingly, a similar travel mode is also coming to Quest, which was confirmed by Meta CTO Andrew Bosworth in his Instagram AMA.
Despite its weight and discomfort, the device remains a great option for entertainment during long plane journeys, which can often feel claustrophobic. Beond Airlines recognized this and seized the opportunity to leverage the potential of Vision Pro by offering it to “select passengers” on flights to the Maldives.
According to Beond’s press release, Tero Taskila, the company’s Chairman and CEO, stated, “The Apple Vision Pro will transform the inflight entertainment experience, and we will be first to offer it to select passengers. In addition to our existing and ever-growing library of inflight content such as movies and games, Beond will showcase stunning resort destinations and activities in the Maldives.”
Taskila further elaborated, saying, “We are working now with partners in the Maldives to prepare truly amazing footage. The inflight experience will build anticipation for passengers before they arrive in the Maldives. Offering the Apple Vision Pro is another step in our vision of delivering a premium travel experience to our customers, from the start to finish of their journey. We’re proud to be the first airline to deploy the technology.”
The company plans to offer Vision Pro headset to its customers starting in July 2024.
